Payback from hardworking ___By Alice Yang, Mar-2026

“It has been over two years since we first met on October 11, 2024, and we plan to increase our purchases going forward. We look forward to your continued support next year.”

This message comes from one of our Japanese clients. Since the JADE team entered the Japanese market in 2024, our consistent efforts have earned the trust and recognition of our customers. Although China and Japan are geographically close, differences in business culture can make the Japanese market challenging for Chinese manufacturers. Here are a few key insights for building trust with Japanese clients.

First, China and Japan view “certainty” differently. In China, a 60–80% chance of success is often acceptable, while Japanese companies tend to expect near certainty. As a result, Japanese clients carefully review every detail before making decisions, which can sometimes be misunderstood. When clients ask many detailed questions, take a moment to consider the concerns behind them.

Second, Japanese clients prioritize long-term value over short-term gains. Competing on price alone is not an effective way to enter the market. They value professionalism and are willing to pay for it. That’s why many prefer working with trading companies rather than sourcing directly from factories. Although this may increase costs, it helps manage communication, quality control, currency risks, and legal matters more efficiently in the long run. Instead of competing on price, focus on strengthening your expertise so clients can clearly see your value.

While adapting to local practices, the JADE team remains committed to professionalism, quality, and integrity. These values will continue to guide us as we expand into global markets.
